A Functional Capacity Evaluation, or FCE, is a systematic series of performance-based tests which help us measure the dependability and reliability with which you may perform tasks related to a specific job description. Also used to help develop a comprehensive approach to your physical therapy program, the FCE results often help your therapist hone in on any weaknesses that may be preventing you from safely returning to work and helping you overcome those obstacles.
Functional Capacity Evaluations are given by certified administrators who are able to recognize when the maximum safe function has been achieved during testing. The objective of an FCE is to safely return injured workers to the workforce and limit the risk of workplace injuries from happening again.
RCI is committed to helping improve work conditions and ultimately assisting in lowering workplace injuries. For more information on preventing workplace injuries and improving office and work station design, see our rehab tip about preventing repetitive stress injuries.
