Occupational therapy (OT) focuses on helping you achieve independence and enhances activities of daily life such as self-care, work, and leisure activities. Whether treating adults or children with injuries or disabilities, an occupational therapist helps by evaluating and treating the physical, cognitive, and emotional deficits and, if necessary, teaches adaptive ways to meet physical challenges.
Our occupational therapists often see patients with neurological disorders, such as after a stroke, and children with developmental delays. Patients who have suffered an orthopedic injury (like a wrist fracture) also work with an occupational therapist during the recovery process.
